COMPANY OVERVIEW: AjoCard Limited is a financial services company that makes it easy for consumers to operate digitally.
The company has designed and built technical solutions to reduce the friction in everyday financial transactions, whether it is to improve savings and lending for everyday consumers removed from financial services, or banked consumers without access to their financial transaction platforms due to location. AjoCard enables these transactions everywhere using a combination of technology (such as software, mobile POSs, Cards) and expanding agency platforms.
ROLE: Settlement Officer
JOB SUMMARY: This role will report to the Settlement Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handle pre-settlement/settlement exception cases and post-settlement investigations.
- Participate in work procedure improvement exercises as required
- Perform day-to-day operation duties of treasury settlement in an accurate and efficient manner, including confirmation, payment for fixed Income
- Respond to dispute claims from banks within the time frame
- Reconciliation activities for Bill Payments with partner organizations
- Reconciliation activities for Airtime with partner organizations
- Settlement mail resolution
- Dealing with ad hoc queries – Returned payments/unallocated receipts, bank statement reconciliation against in-house systems/payment instructions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of a Degree (preferably Finance, Accounting or similar field) or equivalent
- 2 -3 years experience in settlement operations
- Be a good team-player, proactive, self-motivated, and positive learning attitude.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work under time pressure
- Attention to details and with good risk awareness
- Proficient in computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Service-minded by providing good service to both stakeholders and to the colleagues who rely on you.
