For the Challenge TB program in Nigeria KNCV is looking for staff to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior TB/HIV Technical Advisor

Challenge TB
KNCV is the lead partner in Challenge TB (CTB), the new USAID-funded 5-year global program to decrease TB mortality and morbidity in high burdened countries. We lead an international consortium with eight partner organizations: American Thoracic Society (ATS), Family Health International (FHI 360). Interactive Research & Development (IRD), Japanese Anti Tuberculosis Foundation (JATA), Management Sciences for Health (MSH), Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH), The International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union), and the World Health Organization. The project in Nigeria will be for a period of 16 months supporting 12 states in Nigeria for quality implementation of TB program.

The overarching strategic objectives of Challenge TB are to improve access to quality patient centered care for TB, TB/HIV, and MDR-TB services; to prevent transmission and disease progression; to strengthen TB platforms.

Purpose of the position and organizational position
This is both a technical and managerial position, where you are expected to:
  • Coordinate all USAID TB/HIV implementing partners;
  • Support USAID TBIHIV implementing partners to ensure quality planning and harmonization of approaches;
  • Organize the coordination platform with the implementing In-country Partners (IP) to review progress and identify obstacles and develop immediate action;
  • Support linkages and liaisons between the IP's and USAID, NTP NASCP and NACA.
  • The officer is responsible to the KNCV Country Director and/or Deputy Director Operations.
Specific Requirements
  • An MPH Degree with more than 6 years experience
  • Experience in working with: HIV & TB programs; USAID projects and/or any development partner
  • Competent with operational plan development, implementation and evaluation of results
  • Strong coordination and planning skills

  • The job will include: develop, implement and secure HR policies;
  • Ensure that all HR issues meet local labor law;
  • Co-develop short and long term staffing plan;
  • Provide effective, reliable high level recruitment advice;
  • Provide high quality advice on HR to managers
Specific Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree, an MBA or additional Degree in Human Resource Management is an advantage
  • A minimum of 5 years working experience, 2 years experience with an international organization is an advantage
  • Competent with organizational HR analysis, development of HR policies and advising about a positive work climate for all staff
  • Ability to stimulate staff in their personal professional development
  • Good numerical skills

  • This is a technical position. The staff will be responsible for setting up the IT Unit at Abuja Central Office and states:
  • Provide continuous support on lT related issues to all project staff;
  • Provide technical support for GIS and other software;
  • Work with MSH and Abt Associates an E-TB manager & GX Alert in all CTB states.
Specific Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in the relevant area (computer Science has an advantage)
  • 4 years experience setting up & maintaining IT unit for the project
  • Experience in creating and maintaining branding for programs
  • Standard information, communication and technology skills including social media skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the DHIS2 Implementation Officer include:

  • Build capacity of state and LGA government officers to enter data, analyze and provide regular reports using DHIS2.
  • Work with SO’s, M&E officers, HMIS officers and others as indicated to analyze collected data and provide feedback to State and Local government RE teams
  • Liaise with NSTOP Data Management Team to provide regular feedback and troubleshoot problems
Certifications, Knowledge and Requirements
  • Postgraduate degree or equivalent in data management, public health, epidemiology or other health related disciplines
  • Possess at least 3 year experience in data management or monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience working with District Health Information System 2 (DHJS2) database Experience in managing routine immunization data at LGA or state level.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Epi info and SPSS.

  • Bachelor's degree (Accounting, Finance and or Business management)
  • At least 4 years of experience in Accounting and working in a project setting
  • Demonstrable experience with accounting and financial reporting in USG supported projects
