The Clarendon Fund is a major graduate scholarship scheme at the University of Oxford, offering around 140 new scholarships every year. Clarendon Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and potential across all degree-bearing subjects at graduate level at the University of Oxford.
Course Level: All degree-bearing courses at graduate level in any subject are eligible. This encompasses all full-time and part-time master’s and all DPhil courses. A list of all the graduate courses offered by the University of Oxford can be found on the Courses page.
Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma courses are not eligible for this scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria:
Clarendon Scholarships are awarded on the basis of outstanding academic merit and potential to graduate students from all around the world. Scholarships are tenable in all subject areas and are open to candidates who apply for a new master’s or DPhil course by the January admissions deadline.
Method of Application:

The Mandel Center awards fellowships-in-residence to candidates working on their dissertations (ABD), postdoctoral researchers, and senior scholars. Immediate postdocs and faculty between appointments will also be considered. Awards are granted on a competitive basis. A principal focus of the program is to ensure the development of a new generation of Holocaust scholars. To this end, scholars early in their careers are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants must be affiliated with an academic or research institution. Proposals from applicants conducting research outside the discipline of history or on Mandel Center strategic priorities are especially encouraged, including literature and the Holocaust; America and the Holocaust,  projects utilizing the ITS collection; Jewish and especially Sephardic experiences of persecution; the Holocaust as it occurred in the Soviet Union, and the Holocaust as it occurred in North Africa.

The Umea University is inviting applications for Five Postdoctoral Fellowships in Experimental Genomics of Malaria Transmission to start in September 2018 or as otherwise agreed. This research forms part of a major effort funded by the European Research Council aimed at understanding the molecular basis of malaria transmission to mosquitoes.

Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must meet the following criteria:
You have a PhD in a relevant area such as genetics, genomics, cell and molecular biology or infectious disease research, as well as a proven ability to deliver high-quality scientific outputs. To be eligible you should have completed your PhD degree a maximum of three years before the end of the application period, unless special circumstances exist. You should be able to work as well independently as in team. You should have a keen interest and sound understanding of molecular and cell biology and experimental genetics. You need to be willing to undertake research involving animals. You are proficient in oral and written communication in English. You must be able to demonstrate a good ability to communicate science effectively and be able to develop creative ways to solve scientific problems.
For most projects the ability to analyse large data sets would be an advantage, as well as an understanding of programming and analysis software such as R, Perl or Python. A background in malaria research or rodent disease models would be highly desirable, as would be knowledge in molecular parasitology and genomics.
