Roles and Responsibilities
  • Record keeping of internal documents.
  • Check retirement reports of float submitted and report thereon.
  • Conduct cash count and report thereon.
  • Participate in stock count report and thereon.
  • Verify goods received/ service rendered on Job Completion Note and notify the Internal Auditor.
  • Organise and reference work papers for review by the Internal Auditor.
  • Supports the Internal Auditor in the development and implementation of the evolving Internal Audit methodology.
  • Assist in the preparation of concise and informative audit report to effectively communicate findings and recommendations.

  • To undertake any duty as may be assigned from time to time due to exigency of work.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • BSC / HND in Accounting or other related business discipline from a reputable University/Polytechnic
  • Minimum 2nd Class Lower
  • Relevant professional qualification(s)
  • Minimum of Three (3) years cumulative cognate experience in Internal Auditing
  • Considerable knowledge of MARPOL, waste Management or shipping and port operations
  • Highly numerate, with good turnaround time on tasks, ability to deliver with minimal supervision
  • At least 3 years’ post qualification experience in Internal Auditing
  • Good understanding of professional IIA performance standards with regards to planning, testing, sampling and documentation
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and standards
  • Knowledge of regulations and industry standards
  • Familiar with industry best practice

2020 National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) FutureHack Hackathon Competition for Programmers in Nigeria

The FutureHack is a national technology hackathon event, in which computer programmers and others involved in software development, including graphic designers, interface designers, project managers, domain experts (and others) collaborate intensively on software projects.
This year, the focus is to find clearly defined ideas and prototypes on Cyber Security and Digital Inclusion. Participants are allowed to express creativity and are encouraged to develop unique solutions with an emphasis on using the latest technology. FutureHack is an initiative of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
Each participant will be attached to a mentor in a hub or university to enable them to conclude the 48-hour hackathon by allowing the students an opportunity to present their work. Three champion teams will be identified at each region.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Participation from all backgrounds and genders are welcome.
  • You can come from any part of Nigeria to participate.
  • There is no age restriction to participate at the hackathon.
  • Your team must be solving problem in Cybersecurity, Digital Inclusion.
  • Each team must give an executive summary about their cybersecurity, Digital Inclusion idea upon registration.
  • All team members should be present at the event and come with their own personal computers.
FutureHack organisers have the right at their sole discretion to determine whether an entrant is eligible for the contest.
NITDA FutureHack Hackathon Competition Requirements.
  • Pre-shortlisted participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements and for covering all associated costs and expenses in connection with their participation in the Hackathon. However, certain food and non-alcoholic drinks are expected to be made available during the Hackathon.
  • Each Participant teams must bring or obtain whatever hardware and/or software they believe they need to participate (e.g. programming application, laptops, phones, etc), including any necessary chargers. There will be electrical outlets available on a first come, first serve basis.

Teams will be judged based on these criteria. Judges will weigh the criteria equally. During judging, participants should try to describe what they did for each criterion in their project.
  • Technology: How technically impressive was the hack? Was the technical problem the team tackled difficult? Did it use a particularly clever technique, or did it use many different components? Did the technology involved make you go “Wow”? Did teams successfully leveraging new technologies as a material component of their solution should be given preference. (I.e. machine learning, blockchain). For example, someone who uses a machine learning or blockchain solution for a non-critical component of their product will receive a lower ranking.
  • Design: Did the team put thought into the user experience? How well designed is the interface? For a website, this might be about how beautiful the CSS or graphics are. For a hardware project, it might be more about how good the human-computer interaction is (e.g. is it easy to use or does it use a cool interface?).
  • Completion: Does the hack work? Did the team achieve everything they wanted?
  • Learning: Did the team stretch themselves? Did they try to learn something new?
  • How closely does the solution align with one of the four challenge sectors?
  • Uniqueness of the solution: How novel is the solution’s approach?
  • Real-world application: Do you think the application develop by the participant will has the potential solve the problem in identified sectors?

2021/2022 Funding Available for Fulbright African Research Scholar Program (ARSP)

The U.S. Mission is now accepting applications for the 2020 Fulbright African Research Scholar Program. This award funds African university lecturers and professors to conduct postdoctoral research or undertake a planned program of reading and research.
The mission of the Fulbright Scholar Program is to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and people of other countries. It aims to provide educational exchange experiences to a maximum number of individuals not previously afforded such an opportunity. The experience should be of intrinsic value to the scholar, the recipient’s home institution, its faculty and its students, as well as to the U.S. host institution. Fulbright Scholars serve as cultural ambassadors and should be prepared to speak about their countries, cultures and research to academic and community groups.
The Program has provided thousands of scholars with the opportunity to establish professional contacts in their field and make long-lasting friendships with colleagues in the United States; to develop collaborative research relationships with U.S. scholars; and to enhance their scholarly publications and other contributions with research conducted in the United States. For many faculty, the Fulbright Program offers an opportunity to pursue scholarly work without interruption. Fulbright African Research Scholar Program Information.
Two categories of grants are offered in the ARSP:  research grants and program and curriculum development grants.
Research Grants:
Awards of 3 to 9 months are offered for senior faculty to conduct post-doctoral research in any academic discipline at a U.S. academic or research institution. Applicants must hold a doctorate or equivalent terminal degree in their fields. Preference will be given to individuals who have at least three years of university teaching experience and a productive scholarly record.
Program and Curriculum Development Grants:
Awards of 3 to 5 months are offered for senior faculty or administrators to conduct research in any academic discipline at a U.S. academic or research institution. Proposals should be linked to professional duties and demonstrate how the candidate will use the knowledge gained to develop new courses, curricula, or other academic programs at the home institution. These grants are designed for university faculty or administrators with less experience and who may not have had recent access to research or instructional developments in their disciplines. A doctorate degree is not required, but applicants must hold a minimum of a master’s or equivalent graduate degree
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have not previously received a Fulbright scholar grant and without experience or limited experience in the U.S.
  • The Fulbright program takes the issue of academic dishonesty (plagiarism) very seriously and will disqualify applications that violate academic integrity.

Job Description: Investment Associate at Lidya The Investment Associate position is responsible for acquiring & managing clients, assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers towards the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Team Management: Manage the investment analysts in launching, qualifying, and acquiring relationships with clients across relevant sectors including but not limited to companies in the eCommerce, consumer goods, healthcare and financial services industries.

2. Loan Portfolio Growth. Support the evaluation, authorization and approval of loans given to customers including authentication of documentation presented for all credit applications and ensuring they meet KYC, loan assessment and any other documentation as required by the Lidya and by the regulators. Execute process for recollection of disbursed loans including recovery of items pledged as security on delinquent loans.

3. Client Engagement: Managing existing client engagements, appraisal of customer loan applications, and approval or rejection of applications within agreed timelines and loan limits.

4. Debt Settlements: Support the Collections team in managing non-performing loans by conducting analysis, and develop and recommend plans to eliminate client debt. Manage past due accounts and determine the appropriate collection action to be taken for clients and reports on status of delinquent accounts.
Desired Qualifications and Skillset:

1. 4 to 7 years+ of experience (preferably commercial) working with an Investment Bank, Commercial Bank, Commercial Bank, Management Consulting Firm or in a Business Development Role (with experience in the financial services sector a plus).

2. Working knowledge of the entire underwriting process from loan application to funds disbursement and collections.

3. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, statistics, mathematics, engineering, investments or a related business discipline.

4. Demonstrated experience with managing day to day aspects of client relationships and projects including considerable experience meeting commercial milestones (i.e. achieving revenue or profit targets).

5. Ability to work in a goal oriented environment where you will be evaluated on your KPIs.

6. Ability to manage a team of 2 to 3 colleagues to meet commercial targets consistently and sustainably

7. Outstanding communication skills and a passion for creating an extraordinary customer experience regardless of the final credit decision.

8. High attention to detail and strong analytical skills including the ability to properly identify the key credit risks, and reach a prompt and well thought out credit decision.

General Job Description
  • The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of the Company’s operations.
