Office Manager wanted Support to National Malaria Programme (DFID)

The Support to National Malaria Programme (SuNMaP) is a DFID-funded five year programme to support the National Malaria Control Programme. It currently operates in six states, namely; Anambra, Kano, Katsina, Lagos, Niger and Ogun with headquarters in Abuja. This £50m programme is managed by a consortium of three international organizations: Malaria Consortium UK, Health Partners International and GRID Consulting Nigeria.
SuNMaP aims to strengthen the delivery of Nigeria’s National Malaria Control effort by providing technical support to improve the capacity of the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP) at all levels. In doing this, the programme is working with stakeholders in the public and non-public health sector as well as civil societies and partners from the commercial sector.
The programme has been in operation for three years and is now looking to fill position below in the programme:
Job Title: Office Manager, Abuja
This job holder will reside in the Abuja office of the programme. S/he will be actively responsible for co-ordinating and managing all administrative, logistics and office assets in all operating states in the programme. S/he will ensure all programme offices adhere to laid down policies and procedures to maintain an effective and efficient flow of programme activities at all locations.
Qualification:
A Bachelor’s degree in any Business Administration or Social Sciences with a minimum of S years working experience in a related role. Additional skills required include; excellent bargaining power, communication, inter-personal, planning and analytical skills. Previous work experience in a donor funding environment with Master’s in Business Administration will be an added advantage.
Terms of Employment:
The appointment is for a contract term of two years, with an initial six months probationary period. SuNt-1aP offers highly competitive salary packages. Local terms and conditions are applicable.

The Program Support Unit (PSU) provides support to the Canadian development assistance program in Nigeria, including to Nigerian Government departments involved in CIDA projects and other projects. The PSU provides assistance in areas such as planning and monitoring of the development program, by carrying our specific activities related to program delivery and by providing professional, technical, financial, administrative and logistical support services.
Operational Management of the PSU is the responsibility of the Director who reports to the CIDA Head of Cooperation at the Canadian High Commission. The Director is expected to ensure the provision of professional, technical, financial, administrative and logistical support resources required for the management of CIDA development programs and projects. The Director is expected to plan, organize direct and monitor the work of the PSU and well as to manage PSU contracted personnel and other human resources needed to carry out PSU work.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for.
• Preparing concepts for development of identified gas markets.

• Acting as a focal point for communication between gas project teams and potential gas customers.
• To provide timely market information and advice to senior management for strategic decision on gas market direction
• Carrying out gas market surveys to identify and properly define scope of gas market development projects.
• Evaluating the economic benefit of projects.
Qualification, Experience and Attributes
• A good University Degree in Petroleum, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. A Master’s in Engineering or Business will be an added advantage
• Minimum of 10 years in the oil and gas industry
• Very good analytical mind
• Some understanding of gas commercialisation

• Ability to communicate effectively
